2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account registration: email address and (optionally) a display name when you create an account.
  • API submissions: API name, endpoint URL, documentation URL, and the contact email you supply when submitting a listing.
  • Contact form: name, email, and message content when you reach out to us.
  • Newsletter sign-up: email address only.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, time on page, referring URL, and general geographic region (country / city level, not precise location). Collected via a privacy-preserving analytics tool that does not use persistent cookies or fingerprinting.
  • Device data: browser type, operating system, screen resolution. Used only in aggregate to improve mobile layout.
  • Log data: server logs record your IP address and timestamp for security purposes. Logs are retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted.

2.3 Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • We do not collect payment information (the Service has no paid features).
  • We do not build advertising profiles or use cross-site tracking.
  • We do not scrape social media profiles linked to your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the Service: delivering the directory, saving your favourites, and processing API submissions.
  • Communications: responding to your enquiries, sending submission status updates, and (if subscribed) the newsletter.
  • Analytics: understanding aggregate usage patterns to improve search, navigation, and content. No individual-level profiling.
  • Security: detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access.
  • Legal compliance: fulfilling obligations under applicable law, including responding to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your data to serve you targeted advertising on other websites.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use a minimal set of cookies. Our advertising partner (Google AdSense) may set its own cookies for ad personalisation — you can opt out via Google's Ad Settings or the consent banner shown on your first visit.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may receive some of your data:

We select third-party processors that maintain adequate data protection standards. We do not share data with third parties beyond what is operationally necessary.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union and United States. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access to production databases is restricted to a small number of authorised team members using multi-factor authentication.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify you promptly if a breach affecting your data occurs.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate data.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
